Use in a classroom

As you can see, I have used blogspot for personal use and not classroom use. Although, in a classroom setting, I would probably use a blog to communicate with other teachers and the parents of my students (since kindergarten students may not be able to blog very well). If I was teaching older students, I would definitely use blogging to talk with students about what we are learning in the classroom. I think continuing the discussion after school would enhance learning because it would give everyone the opportunity to reflect and share their thoughts.

The main disadvantage I would see is the lack of privacy. Some parents might "talk" about other students in the class, which would create too much drama. Also, some parents may not know how to use this tool and may not take the time to participate.
