Fall Fun

I thought I would share some pictures of our recent fall fun. Alex and I went on a hayride to a pumpkin patch and he dressed up as a little vet for Halloween and helped Chris pass out candy.

Fat Kitty

Well, our beloved "Fat Kitty" went out on an adventure and didn't return home safely. Last week, Fat Kitty was no where in sight, so we figured that somehow he must have escaped from the house. All of our cats are indoor kitties, so we were worried when we didn't find him hiding in a closet somewhere. Despite our efforts of searching, he made it close to home, but not close enough. To my dismay, late on Friday the 13th, I got a phone call and walked outside to find the poor fellow. Knowing that he had been hit by a car--right in front of our home was very hard for us. I wrote a little poem after the accident and I thought I'd share it with you.
A pet is so much more than a "dog" or a "cat. A pet is a life full of memories; happy and sad. Glancing at his favorite spot in the sun; now it is an empty space. Expecting his signature meow at the breakfast table, but hearing just my own sound. Curling up for a nap without my furry buddy; I'll be so lonely. Cleaning up the furry messes, but knowing it's the last time I'll see his fluffy tufts of furr. Maybe I'll leave it lay for a while. Just maybe I'll let his memory stay for a while. . . a long, long while.
